I need advice on my paper for history. It has to be on the positives and negatives of immigration. I wanna know opinions on what i have so far, good, bad, needs improvement? And i want suggestions of things to add or changes to. This is what I have so far :

Immigration has been a controversial issue in America for ages. Millions of immigrants move to America in hopes of having a better life there. Displayed on the Statue of Liberty, Emma Lazarus’s “The New Colossus” welcomed a great number of immigrants into New York Harbor. She wrote, “Give me your poor, your tired, your huddled masses, yearning to breathe free …” Her welcoming words assured immigrants that they were wanted in the new land. Immigration offers both positive and negative contributions to America.
Since the early 1800s, immigration has brought many positive things to America. During the time of industrialization, a flow of immigrants supplied a large work force for factories. They worked hard, but they accepted low wages. This saved many businesses and factories money. The strong work force of immigrants allowed America to industrialize and grow rapidly. Today around 20% of doctors in America are foreign born. This means that even today immigrants are supplying America with that same important work force. Immigrants also brought many new ideas for technology. According to Wikipedia, Alexander Graham Bell, inventor of the telephone, and Jan E. Matzeliger, inventor of a shoemaking machine, were both immigrants. James Ritty, inventor of the cash register, was the son of two immigrants. Immigration has also positively affected our culture. America is considered a “melting pot”, or a multi-ethnic society. The mixture of different cultures allows American people to learn and understand other countries. According to Iris Teichmann’s studies, she believes around 16 million immigrants have moved to America between the years of 1970 and 1995. Without cultural diversity, it would hinder America’s understand of trade, as well. Immigrants help American traders understand the needs of other countries. This allows America to trade things that a country may need in exchange for a need of America.

i think it is concise and covers a lot of well documented points – i would give you high marks!!!

The ideal political-economic system is laissez-faire capitalism. It is a system where men deal with one another, not as victims and executioners, nor as masters and slaves, but as traders, by free, voluntary exchange to mutual benefit. It is a system where no man may obtain any values from others by resorting to physical force, and no man may initiate the use of physical force against others. The government acts only as a policeman that protects man’s rights; it uses physical force only in retaliation and only against those who initiate its use, such as criminals or foreign invaders. In a system of full capitalism, there should be (but, historically, has not yet been) a complete separation of state and economics, in the same way and for the same reasons as the separation of state and church.

What can we do to stop socialism NOW? Not in 4 years…?
The government should not be buying into major banks. That is socialism, darling.

If Obama’s not a socialist he’ll have to be a lot more capitalistic than Georgy-porridgy…

There’s no way to stop socialism ‘NOW’, but many ways to help change the tide. Have you read Rand’s ‘Philosophy Who Needs It’? One essay is titled “What Can One [person] Do?”

One really good way is to set an example, give some people around you an idea of what a conscious and happy life is like. In general, people who want to take responsibility for themselves tend to vote more in the direction of individual rights and limited government. Those who long to be taken care of tend to vote in the direction of increasing socialism.

And one way to sharpen your thinking skills and raise your self-esteem (if I may say so) might be to raise your Y! A score..:)

Give a thought to this: what makes the forex market so unique that none other like equities, commodities or even the bond market can match either individually or all put together? I think everyone who wishes to have a share worth his or her salt of action in the forex market needs to know this.

The Unique Characteristics of Forex Market
Forex market allows trading in all major world currencies seamlessly. US Dollar, Euro, Japanese Yen and Great Britain Pounds are the few currencies that account for over 80% of the daily forex trade. Now let’s see what other features attribute to make this so unique.

1. There is no single exchange market for trading foreign currencies yet all of them are so closely connected to each other (‘over the counter’ trading) that the differences in values can hardly be considerable, at least, for a retail trader.

2. There is no commission involved in the foreign exchange trading although there is low transaction costs involved. One reason for this feature is you are trading currencies and not negotiable instruments which are always virtual in nature at the point of trade time.

3. Forex market has a continuous nature. Global time zones and universal nature of currencies have facilitated the continuous nature of this. When markets in Asia close European markets open and when they close there is American market to take over. The next cycle begins with the Asian markets taking over from American markets.

4. Largest daily turnover- over US Dollar 3 billion which is ten times bigger than turnovers for all equity exchange markets put together.

Ponder the point number one again; London, New York and Tokyo are the top trading markets with many smaller markets and countless banks and operators functioning across the globe in relativity and interconnection to these big three. Thanks to the continuous nature and ‘over the counter’ trading facilitates quick decision making for traders without waiting for the markets to open the next day.

‘Over the counter’ trading also brings in the benefit of arbitrage (overnight differential interest) since there is no single dollar rate over the world depending on significantly great number of factors that affect the local Dollar demand and the local economy. Beginners need to understand the mechanics of economy that play roles here. These factors include the GDP, budget, trade deficits, rate of interests and inflation amongst other macro economic issues.

An interesting piece of information: regardless of trends, US Dollar is involved in about 90% of transactions.

As a personal investor, I've dealt more with options and commodities but have recently been looking at currencies & foreign exchange. What I don't like about options is that they are a "wasting asset" that can expire worthless if not exercised whereas with commodities and foreign exchange, you have a position in an asset that won't automatically expire.

It is interesting that with foreign exchange, you can trade on margin at rates of 100 to 1 whereas with pure equities, it is usually no more than 4 to 1.

If you are an experienced investor or financial advisor, I would appreciate hearing your perspective as to the pros and cons of trading in these three markets, i.e. FX, options, and commodities.

I like the choices you provide.

Currencies are highly volatile, but usually trade within a predictable range, which minimizes risk to a point. The amount of margin you are willing to take on can increase both the risk and potential reward. The lack of commissions can be a plus, but the lack of assistance can be a minus.

Options are less risky, but you must balance yourself here. The price you pay is directly tied to the possibility that you will be able to exercise your option in the future. You are able to limit your risk to the price of the options you purchase, but you will likely pay commissions, which can keep you out of the money, even on a profitable trade.

Commodities are one of the fastest ways to lose money consistently. Commissions can be quite high with these, but patience can work to your advantage, if you are not just looking to make a quick strike.

Any of these choices can cause you to lose all of your money. For that reason, I would not recommend that you enter into any of these arenas unless and until you have the rest of your financial house in order. Be debt free, with adequate savings for emergencies, as well as your college funds and retirement funds in place. If you have an extra six figures lying around the house after that, then go for it.

Personally, I prefer a lower risk approach that does not require my constant attention. Having lost $60K in commodities over four months several years ago kind of soured me on high-risk investments. I've since learned how to make a large income from my efforts, and I let my money grow at a reasonable pace, sufficient to fund my future.

Good luck!

i'm a newbie of forex (foreign exchange currency), i wonder why most of trader using multiple monitor to see their chart, if you and experience trader please help me, tell me what are they looking on first monitor and the second one.

what are the most important of being a forex trader?
does it need a specific time to do a trading?

thank you..

Hi,

There's actually no need to use multiple monitors when trading Forex.

Although multiple monitors do help a trader to better visualise relative price movements (i.e. compare movements between currencies and time frames), you can already do that using multiple "windows" in one single monitor.

Multiple monitors are honestly more a luxury than a necessity, at least at the retail trading level.

Now, to answer your other questions…

The most important thing about being a Forex trader is money management. There are many free resources available on the internet where you can learn from.

About your last question…
There is no specific (or compulsory) time to trade, although there are better times to trade than others. The better times to trade typically coincide with the London and U.S. trading hours because of the high liquidity.

Hope I've been of help to you. If you want more information, you may like to get a free copy of my Forex trading report at http://forexsystemprofits.com
